I’ve been really looking forward to posting some pictures from Katie and Chris’s day as it was such a fun, happy wedding bursting with colour. There was welly wanging, a coconut shire, lots of laughs and the prettiest flowers – of course!
In May we packed up our flowers (I also packed my maternity bag being 8 months pregnant argh!) and braved the bank holiday traffic up to Yorkshire to help this super duper couple tie the knot.
Nestled in the beautiful countryside, just outside Holmfirth, was their church – probably the most picture perfect church we have seen.Because of how lovely the church was it needed very little decoration and so the flowers were kept simple – lemon peonies with greenery in small tins lining the aisle. The venue, a quirky stone mountain rescue building, had been lovingly transformed by Katie and Chris into a stylishly rustic setting with old wood, haybales and bunting everywhere.
The day was fun and informal and the flowers matched. The table flowers were a mix of coral, lemon and pink peonies with roses and sweet peas gathered together in paint tins. Katie’s bouquet was bright and blousy with peonies, roses and hydrangeas whilst her bridesmaids had light blue hydrangea bouquets to match their shoes. The buttonholes were a bright yellow rose with veronica to give them a pop of pink!
Katie and Chris are a lovely couple and we were honoured to play a small part in their day. Photos are by Fiona Oliver Photography www.fionaoliverphotography.co.uk:
